It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that family, friends, and the community mourn the tragic passing of Peyton Bilbia, 26, of Milford, formerly of Grand Blanc, who was senselessly taken from this world on Wednesday, December 31, 2025.

Peyton’s life was cut short in a violent incident in his apartment on New Year’s Eve, leaving loved ones devastated and a community in mourning. Born on March 7, 1999, in Pontiac, Michigan, Peyton was the cherished son of Mathew M. and Abbie M. (Lahr) Bilbia.

A 2017 graduate of Holly High School, he pursued higher education at the University of Michigan Flint, always eager to grow, learn, and explore new opportunities.

Earlier this year, he moved from Grand Blanc to Milford, excited for a new chapter of independence, personal growth, and life experiences. Those who knew him remember him as ambitious, adventurous, and full of life, always embracing each opportunity with positivity and determination.

Peyton was employed by D.E. McNabb Flooring in New Hudson, where he quickly earned the respect of colleagues for his dedication, reliability, and strong work ethic. Beyond his professional life, Peyton had a vibrant personality and a variety of passions that defined who he was.

He enjoyed working out, riding mountain bikes, watching movies, listening to music, supporting University of Michigan football, and spending time with his beloved dogs.

Friends and family alike remember him for his kind heart, his sense of humor, and his ability to bring joy and energy into every room he entered.

He was deeply devoted to his family. Peyton is survived by his parents, Mathew and Abbie Bilbia of Grand Blanc; sisters, Makayla Bilbia of Grand Rapids and Ella Bilbia of Grand Blanc; grandparents, Craig and Deborah Lahr of Waterford and Karen and Kevin Kasper of Albion; uncles, Kevin (Randielle) Bilbia of Bruce Township and Scott Lahr of Waterford; aunt, April Lahr of Milford; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Craig Bilbia.

Reflecting on his life, his family shared, “My kind, handsome boy is no longer on this Earth. He was robbed of his life way too young. He was so happy—traveling all over the country for work, moving into his first apartment in March, celebrating weddings with friends, and most recently, very happy with a girl he had met.

Not long after, he was murdered on New Year’s Eve while he slept. My world is shattered, and nothing will ever be the same.” Peyton’s warmth, compassion, and zest for life left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

He was a loyal friend, a loving son and brother, and a kind soul who always sought to lift others up. His energy, laughter, and love for life will continue to resonate in the memories of those who knew him.
